More information.

The Tournament is the Star.

Tradition means commitment! The tennis tournament at Rothenbaum in Hamburg was held for the first time in 1892. It is one of the oldest tennis events in the world. And all 26 of the world’s top ranked players since 1973 have made their way to Rothenbaum.

Now, the prestigious event is being renewed for the future. The mood at the home of the German Open is one of optimism: The famous roof over Center Court has been renovated and Matchmaker Sports GmbH is making its debut as organizer. Even the tournament name is new: The Hamburg European Open.

The starting field has also already been set: Austrian superstar Dominic Thiem, Italian Monte Carlo champion Fabio Fognini and long-time Davis Cup star Philipp Kohlschreiber were among the first to confirm their participation.
